Zune meet Vista....Vista, this is my good friend Zune



With the help of this post, I am now listening, downloading, and syncing my Zune and the Zune Marketplace on Vista.  Amazing to see these two products working together.  I have the following apps running at the same time with no performance issues I used to have on XP:

  • Word 2007 open (writing my portion of a book)
  • Couple IE windows
  • Virtual PC 2007 with 1024MB allocated to a running machine (Windows 2003 and SharePoint 2007)
  • Outlook 2007
  • Zune player listening to Blue October (amazing CD!)
  • Windows Live Writer
  • MSN Messenger
  • Windows Mobile Device Center (synced with my Mobile 5.0 phone)

Glad to see you found this Jeff. I was going to blog on it as well, but for me, it isnt always working 100%. It is sluggish and a lot of the GUI pieces are of. Refreshes when moving the screen and other stuff are slow to non-existent. However, it does allow me to sync and use the marketplace so that is great! Hey Microsoft, add some videos to the marketplace!

Mine also has some, but not much of a lag, but I am very willing to live with that.

Videos, Podcasts...now MS would have something to compete with the iPod and iTunes. I am dying to stop using my iPod, but I can't without Zune Podcast support

Hey Jeff, I didn't know you guys were working on a Sharepoint book, that's cool. Even though I'm not really doing development work anymore, I love Sharepoint and use it in my business. I'll definetly be picking up the book when it comes out.

Even though the support wizards at Zune told me it wasn't compatible , I had a hunch it had more to do
